I started a website called LunchDiscounts.com about 5 years ago as a simple 3 page website with lunch coupons for restaurants in Austin, TX. It was beautiful website for 2002, but would look like a 3rd grader created it in 2007.
At the time, there were no social networking sites, bookmark sites, YouTube, and very little BLOGGING! Now, every site on the web has a forum, links to bookmarking sites, blogs, RSS feeds, etc… Holey Krikey! I have a LOT to learn as I try to join the rest of the 21st century.
Well now I’ve updated my site and changed the name to DinerDeals.com, (tagline: “The PREMIER Resource for Diners”). The NEW and IMPROVED website includes restaurant coupons, restaurant reviews, restaurant gift certificates, gourmet gifts, online reservations and everything a diehard diner desires (doncha just LOVE alliteration).
I am starting this blog as a way to familiarize myself with the “ins and outs” of blogging and get familiar with the latest blogging jargon. Plus, I think I have a lot to contribute to the WWW from my 13 years of selling wine to restaurants in 5 states. So, I will also be posting articles on getting the most out attending wine tastings, hosting wine parties, going to wine dinners and some more “wine 101″.
Once I graduate from newbie to blogging expert I will include a blog on the DinerDeals.com website…STAY TUNED! Until then, I will sign off with my favorite dining quote by Virginia Woolf – “One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.”
